When religion is good, nothing is better, when it is bad

nothing is worse. This sadly is the state of affairs prevailing in the majority of Muslims today. 9/11 brought on an avalanche of questions with it, there has been much said about the moralities, the attacks (rather personal) on each other, justifications,

arguments and counter arguments. In the following article I will try to list down some of the thoughts and questions in my mind, I will try to explain some, and will remain open on any advice from any one. I must say I do not consider my self to be the most knowledgeable of

Muslims, and the views are mine, I do not wish to attack or to degrade any one. I pray that God gives me the power and the sight to do this.

The word “Jihad” has taken all too much of the lime light, maybe even more then it

deserved. There is a world wide Antagonization of Muslims in general and Jihad in particular. I do admit that what this uncalled for opposition to jihad is unfair, however I also believe that we as

Muslims are responsible for this state of affairs.

Q1.

Through my limited knowledge of Islamic history, and the Wars fought by prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H) I have not seen a single act that can be categorized “violent”. Neither do I know of a war waged in occult. The wars

fought have been organized, and fought against armies rather then civilians, expanding from this premise I would like to question, how can the modern “jihad” waged, killings civilians be justified ?

Q2.

Our prophet was made a source of blessing for all worlds, he was the “Rehmat” for every one, such was the greatness of our prophet that when he went to “Habsha” and asked the people, they stoned him, so much that the blood dripping from his body, made clots in his shoes, and then when the angel came down, and asked the prophet, to punish the rude people, he didn’t ask for punishment, rather he acknowledged, that these

people do not understand, so do not punish them, (some one please fill in the exact historical details here I might be wrong). So my fellow

Muslims, WE the believers and lovers of our prophet, when we claim to follow the Sunnah, then isn’t this Sunnah as well ? How can those amongst us forget the lesson of humanity ?

Q3.

Such was the greatness of our prophet, that he made Abu Jehal’s house his most fierce

opponent , Dar-ul-Aman (house of peace). That takes “if some one slaps you, present your other cheek” to a further high standard. So why can’t we the

followers of the Sunnah, adopt this Sunnah of the prophet ?

It is sad that we the Muslims, have taken God’s religion, and made our own, “personalized” and most of the times

politically motivated definations. millions of Muslims live in deplorable conditions, below poverty,

oppressed, Why can’t we preach Abu-Bakar’s (r.z) example of giving up the house’s belongings in the name of Islam, why can’t we follow the Example of Usman (r.z) ?

Our leaders are to blame, but I would also accuse our own religious leaders in this, It is the so called defenders of the religion, who took the mosque so away from our lives, made less and less approachable. It was and it is the God’s religion to it’s believers, so when did the “defenders” of the religion became owners of the religion ?

These are just some of the thoughts that we as Muslims, and as humans shall think about. Allah has entrusted us to spread and practice his religion, and the dear Prophet (p.b.u.h)

showed us, that the way to do it, was not with violence, but with love, with peace, with

forgiveness, and understanding, with tolerance and debate. So those who deny this Sunnah of preaching, how can they justify their own lust for blood ?

More to come, in time. may Allah give me the strength, and show me the way, to service his words, and his liking. Amin.
