Title: Where was Prophet (pbuh) Buried? Question: Please inform me as soon as possible WHERE our Prophet (SAWS) is buried?? Is he not in Medina in his mosque?? I remember going to Umrah as a little girl where I was told that that dark area inside is where our prophet (SAWS) is buried and also, inside there were some things of his like his plate and chair or something like that. I am not sure. I am very worried about this because I recently told someone that I did see this and then I realized that I was not sure so if I am wrong, I don't want to say wrong things and want to apologize to them right away... Salam Alaikum NV Answer: You are not wrong in stating that the Prophet (pbuh) is buried in the mosque at Medinah. However, it would be more precise to say that the Prophet (pbuh) was buried in the room in which he died. This was a room adjoining the mosque, which was occupied by Hadhrat Ayesha (ra). Subsequently, when the mosque was extended to accommodate the increasing number of Muslims, the rooms occupied by the Prophet's wives were also included in the mosque. I hope this helps. Regards.
