Title: What is a Deobandi ? Question: Who is a Wahabi or a Deobandi ? Answer: For an introduction to the term "Wahabi" , please refer to one of my earlier responses to a related question, titled " About Wahabis ... " . "Deobandi" is generally used as for a person, who has graduated from the institute "Daar al-Uloom" at Deoband [1] or adheres to the Deobandi school of thought. This institute was founded in an ancient mosque called "Chhatta" of Deoband by a well-known scholar and reformer of his time, Mohammed Qasim Nanotvi , in the year 1867 AD.
