Repentance After Committing Sins
Question
Title: Repentance After Committing Sins Question: My question is that if a girl gets involved into physical relationship with a guy because both were in love but they didnt had a sexual intercourse otherwise they went to the extent of nudity several times. But after sometime the girl realized that this is wrong and she stopped talking and meeting that guy and completely devoted herself to Allah. she is still virgin but she does not feel that she is pure any more. because she thinks once she is touched by a male she won't get the same purity that she had at that time when she was touched. What do Quran and Hadith has to say about it. Answer: Purity is not simply an issue of virginity; rather, it is a state of mind and heart. When one errs, realizes it, and repents God cleanses the stains of their sins from them. The young lady can find solace and peace in the fact that God Almighty is the Ever-Loving, Forgiving Lord that will have mercy on her when she turns to Him. There is no reason for her to lose hope or feel a sense of distance. This does not mean that she should not allow her conscience, as it did in this case, to prod her. Instead, when it does she should recognize it and appreciate it as the divine guidance that God has placed in us all. Thereafter, she should act accordingly and seek out her Lord and try to maintain herself upon His path. Just remember that as humans we tend to slip but have recourse in our Lord's mercy. She should keep these words of your Lord in mind and heart when feeling despondent over her errors: And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred but [only for] what your hearts intended. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful. - Al Ahzab 73:5 Lord, do not hold us accountable, if we err or forget. - Al Baqarah 2:286 I hope I have clarified the issue. God knows best.
