Regarding Sex Education
Question
Title: Regarding Sex Education Question: Should sex education be taught in schools of Islamic countries? Answer: There is nothing in the Islamic Shari`ah which prohibits sex education. Islam would only interfere in the process if such education spoils the ethical and moral standards of the child. However, whether or not sex education should be taught as a subject and if it should be, at what stage should it be introduced as a subject, are all questions that should be addressed to Muslim Educationists and Child Psychologists. I do not consider myself qualified in these fields to give any opinion regarding these questions. 5 th June 1999
