Question

Title: Regarding Online Casinos... Question: What do Muslims think or feel about online casinos. Also online casinos on the internet? Thank you, Kindly, Sandi Basi Answer: The Qur'an, the basis of Islamic belief, strictly discourages Muslims against participating in any activities, which fall within the scope of gambling. However, as in the case of adherents to any other religion, individual deviations may exist among Muslims in the practical adherence to these directives. Nevertheless, there exists a pervading idea against gambling encompassing most of the Muslims, whether it is conducted online or not, on the basis of such unequivocal injunctions in the Qur'an. Thus, if the activities of online casinos do fall under the scope of gambling, as indeed they do, then Muslims would be directed by the Qur'an to completely refrain from engaging themselves in such activities, as it is strictly disallowed for any Muslim to partake in a practice that amounts to an instance of gambling or wager.
