Question

I'm 18 years old and I am regular reader of 'ISHRAQ'. I also read 'AL-Risala' and several books by Maulana Wahiduddin Khan. My question is, according to JAWED AHMED GHAMIDI, Dajjal is not a man but it's a kind of people who have their eyes set only on the material well being in the life of this world. If this is true, then who is 'IBN-SIYAD' known in Muhammad (PBUH) era? Farhan Khan

Answer

The incident of Ibn Sayyad narrated in compilations of narratives ascribed to the Prophet (pbuh) show that he was a child from among the Jews, who is reported to be a soothsayer, to whom the Prophet (pbuh) presented the call the Islam. Ibn Sayyad did not accept the call of the Messenger. It is reported that the child was born with one working eye, while his other eye was defective. This attribute is one, which led some people to believe that Ibn Sayyad may actually have been Dajjal . However, there is no evidence to substantiate this opinion.
