Reading the Translation of the Qur’an

Question

Reading the Translation of the Qur’an Is it wrong or okay or good to read the Qur’an in another language when trying to gather its meaning? Is it sinful or sacrilegious? Must one only read it in Arabic? Regards, Fareena Reply The Qur'an is a book of guidance for mankind, not for Arabs only. If a non-Arab wants to know about the message of the Qur'an, he has no option but to go for a translation of the Qur'an. I have absolutely no basis of saying that reading the translation of the Qur'an is sacrilegious or a sin. In case anyone believes that reading the translation of the Qur'an is a sin, it is his duty to back his belief with some clear directives of the Qur'an or narratives ascribed to the Prophet (pbuh). In the absence of such arguments, no one has the authority to declare something a sin or sacrilegious. I hope this helps. In case any further explanation is required, please feel free to write back to me at your convenience.
