Title: Paying Zakat With Clothes Question: Please note that in the sub-continent, people buy clothes etc with "zakat money" and then distribute it among the poor people. Is it okay to pay zakat like this? Answer: If the clothes that are bought are at least to the value of the paid Zakah money and if clothes can be categorised as one of the essential living items of the needy in the area that they are distributed, then there is no problem with this practice.
