Question

Title: Men Borrowing Money From Wives Question: My husband refuses to borrow money from me- I want to know what Islam's point of view upon that issue, I believe it is not haram nor halal. I believe there is a hadith encouraging that kind of help if needed or a story of one of the prophets, Prophet's companions that experienced such a situation. Thanks for the help. Jazakum Allahu Khairan. Answer: There is nothing in the Shari'ah that states that women cannot help out their husbands financially nor is it said that their husbands are forbidden to accept their offerings. Furthermore, we know from the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that his wife Khadijah (May Allah be pleased with her) helped her husband in God's cause continuously. The only thing is that the husband cannot do is force his wife to help him out financially which in your situation is not the case. I hope that I have clarified the issues, And Allah (SWT) knows best, Hischam July 31, 2004
