Title: Marriage with a Girl regarding whose Mother one had an Impious Thought Question: I dare to ask a question which is a matter of death and life. Kindly guide me/us in the light of Islam. I have a brother(N) 30 Y. We wanted him to be married with our 1st cousin (S) (daughter of real uncle, father's younger brother). my uncle and aunty also looked after us after the death of our mother in 1976. (N) replied us that 6/7 years ago, one day he was sitting beside my aunty, she was feeding her younger child, when satan astray him for a while and he touched her with bad idea in mind, it was only a touch on her waist not on other sensitive parts This satanic action/thought occupied him for a while and then he realized that he is doing wrong. Well, important thing is that my aunty did not notice his action in that sense because when she was asked, she replied that she took this action as childlike touch. My brother asked this question from some Muftis but they condemned this marriage as Haram marriage. Kindly guide us towards right path, so we would be able to make a right decision. My brother prays 5 times regularly and he is very particular about religion. Thanks Muhammad Waseem Pakistan Answer: There is absolutely no basis of considering the proposed marriage to be Haraam . A marriage in such a case would only be considered as Haraam , if the boy had (legally) married with the girl's mother and while in that marriage, had conjugal relations with her.
