Islam vs. Muslims
Question
Title: Islam vs. Muslims Question: In what way can western countries be made to understand that Islam is a religion of peace, love, brotherliness and not terrorism as they are presently looking at it? Answer: As far as I see, the main cause of misunderstanding Islam by non-Muslims are (directly or indirectly) Muslims themselves. Therefore to deal with these misunderstandings effectively we Muslims should focus on educating ourselves in order to have a reasonably correct understanding of Islam and our duties as Muslims. Of course, we can always address non-Muslims directly by organising talks and conferences and interviews as well as publishing books, etc. in an attempt to clarify these misunderstandings. However the positive effects of these efforts will remain quite limited as long as some Muslims practically endorse these misunderstandings. If someone calls me a violent person and in response I object to him by slapping on his face, I am only proving that he was right. Abdullah Rahim March 2, 2007
