Title: Is Using a Razor Forbidden? Question: I would like to know if using a razor to remove hair from a womens legs and arms is permissable in islam.I have researched this topic and found various answers,so can you please back this up with quotes from the Qu'ran and hadith or other religous context. Answer: The Shari'ah (Islamic Law) does not regulate how one removes body hair. The Qur'an does not address shaving; rather, it guides humanity towards morals and the path to God. The Sunnah is the religious practice from where we get our obligation to remove hair. Nothing in the Shari'ah mentions removing hair from the arms and legs; this is a personal matter. Thus, women are free to remove this hair as they please. There are no religious elements in this matter. For further detail please read our previous reply, " Question Regarding the Dress Code for Women & Shaving Unwanted Hair ." I hope I have clarified the issue. God knows best.
