Question

Title: How does God select His Prophets? Question: I am fond of your site. And I appreciate your efforts and your understanding of Islam. I am basically a Pakistani, but studying in Turkey. One of my friend asked me a tough question of which I could'nt find a satisfactory answer. I hope you may help me in this regard. He said that Allah says He is Adil (do justice), and this world is an exam for human beings and everybody will be rewarded or punished for his deeds. Then he says God selected few human beings as his messengers and guided them through revelation (wahee) and those messengers are guaranteed to go to heaven. According to him its violation by Him of His laws. Because at one side He says this places is to test His Abd (humans) but he is directly guiding them through revelation and correct their mistakes. And he says that God is doing injustice between me and His prophet by selecting and guiding him while he is testing me! Why God did't select me as His prophet. If He would have done so I would have gone to heaven. In this way God discremenate among his creature (humans). Waiting for your answer. With regards Sajjad Akbar Turkey Answer: Your friend is right in his statement that God has created this world for the test and there is no other opinion regarding the issue. But this does not entail that the nature of this test should be the same for all. You would agree that the discrimination your friend finds between him and the prophets of God is even found between every two individuals. Since all of us are to live through different conditions and circumstances every one of us is going through different sort of test. One is faced with the test poverty while the other of affluence. There is no doubt that after a certain point in life a prophet (sws) is guided by revelation and does not remain in test regarding guidance in the sense we are but his test is replaced with manifold trying ones. He has to bear many difficulties in his mission of spreading the word of God. Qur'an clearly mentions the tests of Abraham (sws) 2:124 reads: And remember his Lord tried Abraham with certain commands, which he fulfilled. 2: 214 reads: They encountered suffering and adversity and were shaken in spirit that even the Messenger and those of faith who were with him cried "when will come the help of Allah? The life of our Prophets (sws) is full of hardships and difficult situations. Same is the case with all the prophet (sws) and messengers (sws) Therefore one should consider these things and should not get depressed and feel abandoned. I hope this helps.
