Food of the People other than Abrahamic Religions
Question
Title: Food of the People other than Abrahamic Religions Question: I want to inquire regarding the eating the food from the people who do not believe in God's books like eating in the home of Hindus or Sikhs. Most of the Hindus are vegetarians so the food prepared is actually halaal in nature. Please explain. Thankx Riaz Naseer USA Answer: Besides animals that are slaughtered, Muslims may eat from their friends' places, even if they do not ascribe to any of the Abrahamic creeds. However, animals that need to be slaughtered can only be eaten when they fulfill the following three conditions: The animal should be slaughtered by a person, who strictly ascribes to the concept of the Oneness of God; The animal should not be consecrated for any false deities and should be slaughtered in the name of the One God; and The animal should be slaughtered in such a way that most of the blood flowing in its veins is poured out of it. I hope this helps. Regards, Moiz Amjad June 5, 2002
