Question

Title: Does a Bath Suffice for Ablution Question: If one takes a bath in the morning and offers his prayer ( Fajr ) without further ablution. Is this ok? Answer: The constitution of Al-Maaidah 5: 6 - the verse which gives the directive regarding ablution before Sala'h - shows, in my opinion, that after taking a bath one does not need to do ablution before sala'h . According to the referred verse, under normal circumstances one needs to do ablution before sala'h . However, if one has had sexual gratification, one must take a bath. Ablution, in this case shall not suffice. It obviously means that taking a bath is more than ablution. Therefore, in my opinion, if one has taken a bath, even under normal circumstances, one does not need to do ablution before sala'h . 7 th October 1998
