Title: Declaring Someone Non-Muslim Question: I read with interest your reply to the question " Should we Call Ahmadis 'Muslims'? " Your answer, as I understand it seems to be that this is an issue to be decided by the Ijma` of the Muslim Ummah . However, I would appreciate it if you would answer the question in the light of the Qur'an & Sunnah , as to the determination of whether a Group is Muslim or non-Muslim. Answer: I acknowledge receipt of your question. However, because I have a long list of questions waiting to be answered and I have no assistance in my work on the web, it might take quite sometime before I can give you a reply. For now, all that I would like to say is that the Qur'an and the Sunnah do not give any specific guidelines as to how a group or an individual may be declared non-Muslim. The issue relates to the collectivity of the Muslims and should, in my opinion, be therefore decided by the collectivity of the Muslims.
