Question

Combining Prayers... Is it wrong to offer Zuhr and Asr sala'h together and magrib and Isha together? Reply According to the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh), due to a reasonable cause, as for instance, when in a state of a journey, a person may join the Zuhr and the `Asr and the Maghrib and the `Ishaa prayers. However, under normal circumstances, all prayers should be offered at their separately prescribed times. The mere fact that all the five prayers have separate names evidences the fact that they are separate prayers, with separately prescribed timings. Joining of prayers is only an allowance, granted under pressing circumstances, not a directive. I hope this helps. Regards, The Learner
