QuestionfromUnited States
Dear Brother - Assalam Alaikum,
Please define a nation, the directives and blessings of God, and Devine law? Is USA a nation? If so, then is the USA a blessed nation where the people are following the directives of God. I can't see how the USA and other countries alike that are given the favors and blessings of God are following the directives of God. Am I correct?
The USA is the ruler of the huge part of the world. Is the USA considered the Israelites and is the blessing back in the hands of the Israelites, including the Jewish State in Jerusalem? If not, then who is the blessed nation after the Israelites and Ishmaelites lost it.
Would the same apply to individuals? I have seen indiviuals that follow strictly the directives of God and still are without the blessings of God. And I have seen the opposite where indiviuals do not follow the directives of God and are blessed with the blessings of God. I consider blessings of God as having children, wealth, health and so on. Am I correct in my understanding of the blessings of God? Why are nations treated differently as compared to individuals when it comes to the blessings of God?
Now to the main question. How can an individual who follows the directives of God can help to get the blessings of God back that would have a positive affect on the Muslim nations collectively? What can I do? Am I responsible as an individual for the happenings of the Muslim nations even though I follow the directives of God? Please bear with me with so many questions and I would greatly appreciate it if you would answer each of the questions asked of you. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Amir
AnswerThe Divine law relating to the Israelites and the Ishmaelites was not a general law, but was in fact the implementation of God's promise with Abraham (pbuh) regarding the position of his progeny.
After the progeny of Abraham (pbuh), nations are not elevated or relegated on the same principles that applied to the Ishmaelites or the Israelites. Neither does this principle apply to individuals. Individuals in this world are all subjected to the law of test, where God allows a privilege or takes it away from an individual as a part of his test, training, cleansing and purification to qualify for success in the life hereafter.
I hope this clarification would help.
