Title: The Basis of Believing in the Prophethood of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qaadiyaan Question/Comments: I read your answer about Ahamdis ( Qadianis - to you) and I just want to explain a bit more for the knowledge of anyone who reads it - may Allah show you the right path. You explained that the difference between the Muslims and the Ahmadi Muslims is that Muslims believe that Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) was the last prophet and no other prophet will come after him. While we Ahmadi Muslims believe that Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian was the promised Messiah for which all Muslim ummah is waiting and yes he was a prophet of God. As all Muslims believe that the promised Messiah will come which according to you will be Jesus and he is a prophet recognized by all of the Muslims and he will come after Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) - then how can you say that Hadhrat Mohammad is the last prophet and no prophet will come after him? Yes we Ahmadi Muslims believe that Islam is the last religion and any prophet that will come after Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) will come as a follower of Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) and will spread Islam and no other religion. We believe that Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) is the seal of all prophets as mentioned in Qur'an and is the greatest of all of them and because of him Allah created this world. Being an Ahmadi Muslim how am I suppose to believe that Jesus is sittng with Allah in the skies and my beloved and the greatest prophet of all Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) is burried in the ground. Therefore we Ahmadi Muslims believe that Jesus as taken off the cross by some of his diciples and he travelled towards Kashmir and died a normal death there, and as promised, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian is the promised Messiah , who has come for the renaissance of Islam and is a follower and a devoted slave of Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh). We Ahmadis love and cherish Hadhrat Mohammad (pbuh) as taught to us by his Messiah - Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and try to follow and spread the true Islam and unfortunately are persecuted mostly by our own Muslim brothers and Governments. But we believe that Allah is with us and we are on the right path and are spreading His word and we have love for all and hatred for none and our greatest weapons are prayers. I would recommend you to contact an Ahmadi Muslim near you and get literature from him and read more about Ahmadiat and meet us and investigate and most of all pray to Allah to show you the right path. Because if Allah's and His prophet Mohammad's (pbuh) Messiah has come and you have not recognised him then you are at fault - so I would recommend you to seek the truth with an open and unbiased heart and most importantly pray to Allah for guidance. May Allah be with you. Your sincere well wisher - an Ahmadi Muslim Answer: I believe that for my success in the hereafter, as far as my beliefs are concerned, the Qur'an suffices for me. In other words, if I believe what the Qur'an wants me to believe, and stop right there, I should be successful in the hereafter. I am sure that you would not disagree on this with me. Now, as far as my knowledge is concerned, the Qur'an does not require me to wait for or believe in any Prophet or Messiah or Mujaddid or anything else, after Mohammed (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). I would therefore submit that I am not even willing to consider any argument given by any Qadiani , Ahmadi or any other school that requires me to believe in any Prophet or Messiah , after Muhammad (pbuh), unless someone tells me that the Qur'an directs and requires me to hold this belief. If you know of any one or more verses of the Qur'an that clearly direct me and other Muslims to hold this belief, please do let me know. I shall then be obliged to consider the coming of the " Promised Messiah ". And in case you don't, then you should yourself seriously consider why do you believe in something that the Qur'an does not require you to. Don't you think that the Qur'an suffices for your success in the hereafter? 5 th April 1998
