Title: Regarding non-Muslims Participating in an Islamic State Question/Comments: Jazakallah khyar for answering my question. However, please can you clarify whether or not non-Muslims can actually participate in an Islamic Government. In your opinion, do you think non-Muslims would, or should, be able to obtain posts in government, especially higher ranking posts? Ramadhaan ul-Mubarak and salaam `alaykum Razwan Answer: Because the Shari`ah has not prohibited us from giving any capable, competent and loyal non-Muslims any responsible posts in a Muslim state, therefore, in my opinion, a Muslim state may give such positions to its non-Muslim citizens, if they consider them to be loyal to the state and competent for the post under consideration. I hope this helps. Regards, Moiz Amjad December 6, 2001
