How can the non-Muslims be Forgiven for their False Beliefs
Title: How can the non-Muslims be Forgiven for their False Beliefs Question/Comments: What I know is that there are two basic parts of our religion. One is Beliefs and the other is deeds, i.e. Ai`tiqaad (Faith) & Aa`maal (Deeds). What we believe is that Ai`tiqaad & Aa`maal are correlated to each other. A person's good Aa`maal will be accepted only if he has the true Ai`tiqaad , which we believe is Islam. Now if a Hindu is very good in his deeds but he believes that the stone gods are the true gods and they will help him after his death, I don't think that he will be forgiven despite his good deeds and true belief in his gods. Razi Allah Answer: You are quite right in believing so. But once again, such wrong beliefs can be a result of: Lack of importance given to this issue, on the part of the person; or His arrogance in submitting to the truth; or Simple mistake or lack of opportunity to know the real truth etc. In case of the first two reasons, all the deeds of a person shall go waste. But in case of the third, it can be hoped that the Ever Merciful would have mercy on us. But I must emphasize here that according to the Qur'an, adopting "Polytheism" cannot have any excuse, it is against the nature of a man. Man has been informed apriori that he has but One God. Therefore, on the Day of Judgment, man himself will bear witness that whatever he did in this respect was wrong and thus he deserves the wrath of the one God. 1 st September 1997
