First Comment on 'Where is Allah?'
Title: First Comment on 'Where is Allah?' Question/Comments: I glanced at your article. Forgive me, Learner, but it is my conviction that you are in need of much more learning before you can address such issues, such as the physical vs. metaphoric throne. Sometimes ignorance can be excused, under special circumstances. However, your site promotes ignorance, and for that I believe that you will be called to account on that Day. The throne of God is indeed the symbol of power and sovereignty. His throne is His dominion of the heavens and earth and all that encompasses them, and all that permeates within them. Any thoughts of God sitting, like some human king, on a physical throne, or worse yet, being carried and flown around by some 8 angels on the Last Day, are blasphemous. God is far above what you describe. The ignorance of Jochen Katz, and his attacks on the Qur'an are totally understandable. He is a rejecter (k - word), and he will account for his actions and utterances. But yours has no excuse, not even in this world. It is just as infuriating when Muslims ascribe stupid and unimaginative qualities to God, as it is to ascribe divinity to Jesus, and make God a third of the trinity. Salaam, Answer: I am always open to learning. May Allah always keep my heart and mind open for it. My pseudonym implies exactly that. Nevertheless, I regret to state is that Mr. Faruq has criticised me for something which I have not written or even implied. I really do not know what to say about such a response. I request Mr. Faruq to have a look at my article again and see if my opinion is any different from what he has expressed in his response. I shall appreciate if Mr. Faruq or anyone on this list would kindly point out the statement from which Mr. Faruq has understood that I believe that God is "sitting, like some human king, on a physical throne". I am sure Mr. Faruq shall agree with me that it is indeed "ignorance" to wrongfully ascribe something to a person. Regards
