Title: Discussion on 'The Beliefs & Practices of Aga Khanis Question/Comments: I had questioned you earlier about Ismailism but I am not really satisfied with your answer. Please advice: Is the Aga Khan the real descendent of Muhammad as Ismaili Muslims claim, even though they don't really act like Muslims. I am an Ismaili too but I don't worship it now, because the pleasure I have got by reciting namaz [1] , I never really got it from Ismaili religion. Please answer me back as soon as possible. I have tried to find the Ismaili question and answer section on your website but there is not one. Please update it with my request. If possible, answer me back. Thank you. Answer: Islam does not give any importance to a person's descent. The Qur'an is absolutely clear of any such directive, be it the descendents of the Prophet (pbuh) or of anyone else. It is primarily due to this lack of importance of a person's descent, in the eyes of Islam that I have never been interested in finding out the truth or the falsehood of the Ismaili claim about the Aga Khan. In my opinion, in the light of my understanding of Islam, whether the Aga Khan is a true descendent of the Prophet (pbuh) or not, does not hold any significance in Islam. I am, therefore, not interested in wasting my time in trying to determine or to refute the Ismaili claim. I do not have an 'Ismaili Question and Answer' section on my web site. Your questions regarding Ismailism are posted on the 'Questions Regarding Sectarian Issues' section. 17 th July 2000 [1] i.e. Sala'h .
