The journey that eventually became Studying Islam began with a simple desire to explore Islam through its original sources and to make meaningful Islamic knowledge accessible through the Web.

In the early days of the Internet, Islamic websites were still relatively limited. While exploring Muslim as well as Christian, Jewish, and Hindu websites, it became clear that there was an opportunity to contribute thoughtful Islamic content online and to address questions and criticisms surrounding Islam, particularly those related to the Qur’an.

This vision eventually led to the creation of the first web page in 1997. What began as a small personal web page gradually developed as visitors started submitting questions about Islam. These questions became an important part of the website and helped shape its direction.

Growing Into a Platform for Learning

Over time, the website evolved from a simple collection of Islamic writings into a broader platform for questions, answers, articles, Qur’anic studies, Hadith, and discussions.

The journey was supported by individuals who contributed their time, expertise, and resources to help develop and improve the website. What started as a small online effort continued to grow with the aim of making Islamic knowledge more accessible to readers around the world.

Today, Studying Islam continues that journey with a renewed focus on learning, thoughtful inquiry, and a deeper understanding of Islam.
